Classic Cosworth RS Is Re - Born By Marque One Detailing
Classic Cosworth RS has been re – born, this has been a real labour of love, which has involved more than over 240-man hours of polishing and detailing alone to bring this beauty back to life and restored to its former beauty!
This has been one of our biggest restoration projects and loved every bit of the restoration process.
This amazing Ford Sierra Cosworth RS was found in a barn after sixteen years of gathering dust, still in its original manufactured spec, with only 61,000 miles on the clock, and its original exhaust system,
This amazing Cosworth RS is to remain in its standard specification, particularly amazing is that this Classic Cosworth comes with full history, dating back from when it was originally purchased form the dealers show room.
So much work has been carried out on this Cosworth to bring this back to its original show room condition, as you might expect is endless, the list of work carried out on this beautiful Cosworth was certainly not for the faint hearted, because it was a long one.
On the list was a full interior refurbishment, which included all of the car’s interior upholstery, interior panels, carpets and dash board. All of which needed a full deep steam clean to remove sixteen years of dirt and grim which had built up over this period.
Exterior wise, this Sierra received our normal standard per detailing inspection, this includes a full “de contamination” of the paint work, we at Marque One Detailing always carry out a pre detailing inspection before we start applying any of our detailing packages.
Also, the front and rear bumpers came off, and were steam cleaned to ensure that all of the dirt and grime behind the bumpers was removed, allowing us to treat effectively any rust spots that where visible.
With regards to the engine and engine bay, both will be fully dressed, after been dry iced cleaned to giving that extra special deep clean, and to ensure that the exposed electrics were not damaged by water or the force of a power washer, particularly as this amazing find has been sitting in a barn for the last sixteen years.
For this particular restoration project, we will be applying a bespoke full “three stage polish” package, this will be supported by one of our Paint Protection Film package and wheel refurbishment.
The paint protection film sections for the front, bonnet, wheel arches and side sile all had to cut by hand, as there are no templates available for this age of car, let alone a Ford Cosworth.
The PPF was expertly applied by our resident PPF installer, Serge who is defiantly a Master craftsmen in apply PPF, the PPF will give added protection to the single stage paint, which is common on this age car, within the main impact area’s of the car, namely the front end, wheel arches, side siles, and bonnet.
